Dear Petrus Kanisius Nicholas Andrew Santoso

Kami yg selalu mendoakan, Papi, Mami & Albert
A letter from my family on my 21st birthday. Tears poured from my eyes the moment I read this. Thank you mom, dad, brother..

Marriage

mar riage  |ˈmarij|

The formal union of a man and a woman, typically recognized by law, by which they become husband and wife

I had a talk over dinner with my two close friends. I’m not sure how it was started but out of sudden we talked about marriage. I’m really interested when people are talking about marriage. It’s an important thing to me since I’m aware that I cannot be a pastor with what I’ve done.

We talked about when we should marry, what we will do for marriage, how we want our marriage to be, how we should plan for our children, etc. It was a very nice talk. I got different views from them.

From all that we’ve talked about, one thing really makes me think. One of my friend said there will be a period when we will think hard and really ask ourselves: Is he/she the right one for me? I think a lot, that’s why I’m afraid something like that will happen to me.

Right after I heard him saying that, my mind told me that now I have a greater challenge. I must find a great girl to be my girlfriend and eventually to be my partner in life. My wife should be a very special woman. She should be a near-perfect woman. I’m just afraid, if I don’t get that kind of girl, I’ll have difficulties in facing that mentally-challenging period since I met great women before. Great women that gave an impact to my life and changed part of my heart.

As a man, I’m always trying to find the best for me. I know I cannot always do like that because there’s always a better one. One day I’ll stop finding and that day I’ll tell her that she is the one, the best for me.
